Girl Scouts provides a place for girls to pursue their dreams and create lasting friendships. Build leadership skills and make the world a better place. Utilizing their organizational and leadership skills, girls can earn the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards and make a sustainable impact in their communities and the world.
Gold Award
The Girl Scout Gold Award is an award that Senior and Ambassador level Girl Scouts can earn. Recipients of this award use skills learned through Girl Scouts to develop sustainable, meaningful solutions to issues they identify within their community.
Gold Star Garden Founder
Michaela has been a Girl Scout for the past twelve years. Since age five, she has had the honor and privilege of volunteering in numerous service projects serving veterans and active-duty service members. During high school, Michaela learned about the impactful work of the Gold Star Mothers organization, where she had the opportunity to help with some of their volunteer initiatives. Through these experiences with Gold Star Mothers and families, the inspiration for the Gold Star Garden began to take shape. Michaela's goal was to build a space in the local community that would not only serve to pay tribute to local heroes and their families but also provide a place of community awareness and education. Michaela hopes the garden will lead to increased support for Gold Star Families and all those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
